A cooperative button masher that combines elements of Lionhead Studios’ wildly popular series and a more traditional board game, Fable Heroes is very hard to label - and even harder to explain. While Fable proper was about taking one’s player through a pre-determined life cycle — making life-altering decisions along the way — Fable Heroes puts up to four players in control of a wide variety of Fable archetypes....

Bethesda and Obsidian have rolled out a new patch for the game, available now for all consoles, which should address many of the issues players were having with the game. In a posting on the official forum for Bethesda Softworks, Jason Bergman, senior producer on Fallout: New Vegas, points out areas that gamers should see improvements while also squashing a few rumors as to the causes of some “bugs.” One of the most talked about problems, the infamous spinning head in the opening sequence, turned out to actually not be bug-related but stemmed from Steam accidentally delivering incomplete files to consumers of the game....

A few leaked pages of both character descriptions and dialogue have appeared online, when compared with prior rumors surrounding Fallout 4 hint that the game will be set in Boston, Massachusetts (at least partly). Hopefully this leak will bring an official announcement soon. The new evidence comes courtesy of Kotaku, who have acquired casting documents for a mysterious project dubbed ‘Institute.’ It turns out that the casting director charged with the task has previously worked on Bethesda’s other major properties - Dishonored and Skyrim - and now that script pages have seemingly confirmed ‘The Institute’ to refer to the game’s fictional take on MIT, a few things seem able to be confirmed....

Developers will often discuss improvements to come in future titles, but these aren’t often voiced alongside blunt acknowledgements of the faults that needed to be fixed. With that in mind, Game Informer’s new gameplay video and interview with Far Cry 4’s narrative director Mark Thompson is not only incredibly refreshing, but also fascinating as an insight into how game developers view their past works critically....

A rerelease of the game for today’s platforms, however, seems much more likely, and is actually rumored for Steam. Obviously Square Enix isn’t going to comment on Final Fantasy VII’s release for Steam, like price point or release date-wise, but our money is on this being very real. Code for the game was discovered briefly on Steam’s backend before it was put where prying eyes could no longer see it, and a domain was registered for Final Fantasy VII on the PC, both pretty substantial indicators that this rerelease is coming very soon....

Players can pre-download the over-80-GB file right now so that they can be ready when the game goes live. The initial file size is fairly small, only around 7 GBs, but that’s merely for the first level of the game. FF7 is a gorgeous masterpiece with more skin and tone detail than you’d expect out of Sony’s device....
