Forget Call of Duty: Ghosts and its next-gen dog gameplay; 2014 is the year of the elephant. Far Cry 4, Ubisoft’s follow-up to the acclaimed 2012 shooter Far Cry 3, is set for release this fall and one of the big selling points for the game is the introduction of elephants, which the player can either ride majestically or aggravate into attacking enemy soldiers. As a new documentary-style trailer for Far Cry 4 explains, elephants have been used as weapons of war in the past (though left to their own devices they are pretty gentle herbivores)....

Along with the praise, Far Cry 3’s story received its fair share of criticism. Some found Jason to be a dull main character, while others felt that the game ended up embodying too sincerely the “Mighty Whitey” trope that lead writer Joffrey Yohalem said that he’d been trying to satirize. For Far Cry 4, however, the writers wanted to take the story of Far Cry 3 and turn it completely on its head....

Five Days at Memorial is based on Sheri Fink’s non-fiction book about the event, which saw the hospital left without power or water, little food and temperatures rising to 100 degrees after the storm caused the levees to break, flooding the city. The bodies of 45 patients were found in the chapel of Memorial Medical Center after the storm had passed. They had died while waiting for evacuation from the hospital, with some allegations being made that there were patients who were administered lethal doses of morphine or other pain medication....
